Big plans and big builds as Newsport Print is back
Newsport Daily Print
Newsport Daily’s first glossy FREE Print edition for the New Year is out on the streets from today… and it’s packed full of big plans and big build stories among the wild and whacky we can expect in Far North Queensland.
A big boost is for backpacker accommodation is on the drawing board for Port Douglas Backpackers on Warner Street, with hopes an additional 70 beds to the venue by renovating rooms and facilities.
A new estate, Sanctuary Greens, is touted for the much maligned Fairmont Resort site on Port Douglas Road, bringing an additional 40 homes to town if successful and the town could be getting a pool hall in Macrossan Street.
Out of town, at Wonga, there’s big plans too, for a luxury eco-resort featuring 70 units. All of the details on those projects feature in this week’s big edition.
And there’s been no shortage of news while we’ve had a break in print production, with slithering snakes and silly antics out in the wilds and bad weather, capturing our attention.
We have the statistics on snakebites across the region, and they may well shock you…. But maybe not as much as our “Sunken Hopes” series of pictures of drowned drives and bottom dwelling boats.
There’s a heap of social pictures, business features and letters to the editor to keep you entertained, along with the latest in sports news.
