The Douglas Netball Association Senior Finals have kicked off, with Cougars beating Sharks last Tuesday to make it through to the next round tonight.
Cougars will face Bite Back Ballers in the Preliminary Final on Tuesday, July 28, with a place in the Grand Final on the line.
The netball association is encouraging fans to head down and support the teams as they battle it out for a spot in the Grand Final against FNQ Chaos next Tuesday, August 4.
The canteen is open each game night, serving up drinks, dinner and snacks for all.

Lawn bowls
Mossman lawn bowler Malachy McTaggart’s superb run of form has gone to the next level with victory in the district singles championship.
The state under-25 player is, for now, arguably the best solo lawn bowler in Far North Queensland after defeating Weipa’s Ben Moore in the final of the District Singles Champion of Club Champions match.
McTaggart was at one stage down 3-13 in the final before storming home to win his first district championship 25-14.
The week before he won his first Mossman Bowls Club singles championship, defeating Alby Wight 25-15. McTaggart said after that win he was stoked about the breakthrough victory.
“I’ve made runner up in district singles twice, but I’ve never actually won a singles tournament,” McTaggart said.
Mossman’s Mike Sims also made the B Grade Final, but lost.
“Congratulations Malachy and well done Mike,” a club spokesman said.
In other results: Club Pairs Final Alby Wight and Mike Sims defeated Peter Busch and Malachy McTaggart 22 - 16. Mike with sub Bill Allison to play in District Pairs Champion of Club Champion on Saturday at Yungaburra. Saturday Jackpot Bowls Grant Girlye, Ray Prain and Bill Smith W+2, Bill Allison, SAS Brian Williams and Ted Holmes W+3, Alistair Douglas, Daryle Hoskin and Steve Heffernan W+13.
AFL Cairns
Port Douglas Crocs made light work of perennial Cairns AFL league strugglers Manunda Hawks at home on the weekend, finishing 134-point victors.
It was top versus bottom in the lopsided encounter, but the Hawks made Port Douglas work for the win in the first half, sticking close up until the long break.
Those returning from the half-time sponsor’s lunch a bit late, however, would have missed a quick flurry of goals from the Crocs to put the game beyond doubt by five minutes into the second half, with the final score 25.13 (163) to 6.3 (39).
After soccering the first goal of the match through early, Crocs spearhead Kye Chapple signalled his intent as his opponent struggled to contain him all day - eventually finishing with seven goals.
The Port Douglas midfield was again dominant, with Ben McPhee, Murphy Short and Sam Fairclough all looking the goods, along with a host of other teammates across the ground.
The women’s team also had a strong win, triumphing 13.6 (84) to no score.
Kayla McInerney kicked five goals for the Crocs women.
This Saturday Port Douglas is at home against Trinity Bulldogs.
