A pair of osprey chicks have become the latest stars in a Daintree Rainforest live reality TV show for an audience of more than 30,000 as they grow stronger every day thanks to their doting parents.

The James Cook University live camera stream at the top of a 55m crane overlooking the forest has been tracking the growth of the birds since the eggs first appeared in May.

The osprey parents have reportedly been returning to the same spot every year for the past 15 years to breed.

“This pair, believed to be the same breeding pair over the years, has made this site their long-term home, bringing continuity and a unique insight into their life cycle,” the JCU states.

“Tune in to watch these majestic birds.

“Follow their journey and witness firsthand the resilience and beauty of these fascinating birds.”

The site has been visited by more than 30,000 viewers.

The show can be watched at jcu.edu.au/daintree/research/live-cameras.
