We are all living on the edge in this brave new world...
Opinion column
For all the Juice on what is happening in the Jungle, you can’t go past the local watering holes.
Apparently someone fell off Flagstaff Hill the other day and had to be emergency evacuated in an ambulance.
We couldn’t find any mention of it in the daily Queensland Ambulance Service media report, but Maggie (not her real name) down at the caravan park was told all about it, and then she relayed it on to a friend of ours up the pub, who spilled the beans to Jungle Juice.
Us and the bloke up the bottlo are also close to solving the big questions surrounding what is going on with the future of AI. Where will we all end up there?
Surely this is the next industrial revolution which is having a massive life-changing effect on cartoonists, journalists, artists, writers and musicians across the planet. Hang on, this could be serious…
We don't reckon AI is smart enough to think for itself just yet, though, but when it is we better watch out. Because it will obviously deduce that more than eight billion human beings are in pest proportions on this planet and will need to be culled posthaste.
Of course, the other alternative there is to just sit back and let all the psychotic world leaders around at the moment do that job themselves - instead of AI we can use No I.
Just the other night Juice and some other barflies were in complete agreement that Donald Trump might be able to take on the task by himself, since he has access to the big red button and no idea whatsoever.
We all now have instant access to the interweb up the bar, so we can ask AI whether the meme it just published is a deep fake or not.
Of course, it might not be completely honest with us, as the information that is being inputted is being made up by the same cheats and liars who got that Yank soccer player out of a red card.
Most of the blokes up one local establishment are convinced Albo is the biggest liar of them all because he didn’t mention anything about changing negative gearing and capital gains before the last election.
And don’t get them started on immigration numbers and the rise of Pauline Hanson.
These are the juicy issues being discussed in pubs across the Shire, so any self-respecting local column would be foolish to ignore them.
So where will we all end up once AI, Trump, Albo, Hanson and the edge of Flagstaff Hill have all had their wicked ways with us little guys?
Anywhere there’s a happy hour on, of course.
See you there!
