Newsport Daily Print's latest edition is out now.

A new lagoon for Port Douglas makes a splash in the latest edition of Newsport Daily Print now on the streets across the Douglas Shire.

And while it is only an architect's impression of just what could be built to reinvigorate Port Douglas and help it stay on course as the world-renowned tourism destination it is, there is a concerted push to make it a reality, for those very reasons.

We have continued to dissect the Douglas Shire budget and look at its impact for the ratepayers and have packed the latest print edition with that news and reation to it in our popular You Said It! letters and comments section, giving locals their say on the stories that matter most to them.

An old story that clearly still matters to many is that of missing Mossman woman Joanne Butterfield - the 28th anniversary of her heartbreaking disappearance landing last week. In a fresh push for answers, Newsport's Bryan Littlely, an investigative journalist who has built a community of citizen sleuths, has launched an investigation through his popular Sleepers podcast to see what answers and information can be raised in the case of the missing 37-year-old mum.

Also making news, a tourism icon with real bite is on the market, Lions Den Hotel at Helenvale listed in the past fortnight as owner Judy Fry looks to retire and set off around Queensland to catch up with grandkids.

The popular family friendly watering hole is like most of Far North Queensland, a hive of activity during the school holidays when Newsport was there and further north following the fun times in the Far North including the Laura Races where more than 5000 ventured.

Newsport has you covered when it comes to the latest moves and makings in business, and has the social scene in focus too, while keeping tabs on Douglas's top performing sports teams.

All that and plenty more is packed into the edition now out on the stands and available from the following outlets:
