Crocodile tour businesses were hit heavily by flash flooding last Friday, with boats washed away.

Video footage of the Crocodile Express Jungle King tour boat from more than 60km out to sea near Saxon Reef shows the 50-seater boat upside down and badly damaged.

Someone close to the Croc Express company owners told Newsport a dive boat crew found the boat after it washed away in Daintree River floodwaters early Friday morning.

"It has been located, however it's still currently out at sea, as it's quite a big recovery mission that has to be arranged, which will take some time," they said.

Rough seas have reportedly been hindering the recovery operation.

The 12m Jungle King went missing with fellow tour boat Solar Whisper on Friday after a wharf was ripped away from the riverbank as floodwaters rose.
