POLICE NEWS: Appeal for witnesses after fishing equipment thrown into the ocean
Police news
Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident last month where a man’s fishing equipment was thrown into the water at Rex Smeal Park in Port Douglas.
Several videos have been doing the rounds on social media of a boy catching and releasing a shark while fishing at the park on Sunday, April 26.
But reports were received by police at about 6.30pm on the same day that two women came up to a man and two teenage boys who were fishing at the park and one threw the man’s fishing equipment into the water before running away.
One of the suspects is described as in her 50s, about 165cm tall and wearing a long skirt at the time.
If you have information about this, or any other, incident contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppersqld.com.au.
