Port was a place where eccentric people and people who lived simply collided to create a colourful community. You could walk into a bar with no shoes and it'll be no worries. It wasn't unusual to bump into a celebrity at the Iron Bar at 11pm and be playing golf with them by 6am. There was a licensed place to drink somewhere in Port 24 hours a day and people came here to party. Now people come here to retire. Port Douglas you've changed.

Gregg Buchanan

I've been living here 45 years and still love it! Yes there are lots of retirees, but most of the people I know here are tradies, boaties, hospo workers, business people, backpackers and musicians. Of course it's not the same as it was before, but we're so lucky to be living where we are considering the state of the rest of the world. Stop whinging and just enjoy our beautiful town.

Andrew Rowen

Lost it's small fishing village image years ago.

Sharon Kenny

Just so glad to have been part of the old days, lol, honesty tin at the bakery after a good boogie at Danny’s Bar absolutely priceless.

Anthony White

Port lost its character in 80s when mirage was built, used to be a great village atmosphere. Now it's just a micro city atmosphere.

Nelly Burrowes

Silvers night club! I loved growing up in Port Douglas.

Don Ferguson

Port is well past the tipping point. It used to be a town with character.

Caroline Bloomfield

It was lost years ago.

Michael Joseph Anich

Port Douglas is as close to heaven as can be. Problem is Mossman/Mossman Sugar Mill/Douglas Farms. Only one option to fix is supergene dwarf palm oil trees/entities/Airbnb.

Neil Calhoun

Will the answer be more taxes? Let's hope so!! Mmmmmm yum taxes. Taxes and rules for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Christopher Saint

Too little reinvestment Into the resorts. Most look tired and dated. A tipping point suggests a sudden dramatic change, I think death by a thousand cuts would be a better analogy.

Jake Wyatt

No growth, people get bored. Things falling apart. Too many don’t like change and it’s showing now.

Matt Pacific Seagull

It's an overpriced tourist trap... see it for what it is.

Ian Locke

It has sadly gone to greed and overdevelopment and developers can do whatever they like thanks to this council!!! Due to conflict of interest.

So our rates will go back down?

Kathleen Smith

Yay they maybe able to clean the toilets and paint the information boards at the Daintree River boat ramp.

Margaret Sexton Carroll

Way way too high. I'm guessing a lot of people struggle with rate payments.

Ellenor Jorgensen

Yes I hope so. They are very high at the moment and people are struggling.

Believe it or not... it’s still a free country even though we have a communist government. Leave people alone, let them decide if they want to watch it. I’d watch it, I’d even offer to pull the trigger, especially if it was a pedo.

Jackie Driscoll

I probably wouldn’t but give people their own choice!

James Taylor

Yeah why not, better than love island or farmer wants a wife.

Darren Wall

Don’t want to see it. Don’t turn it on.

Jo M. Wood

Hell no, don't be so ridiculous, it can possibly give people an uncomfortable feeling and may affected their health matter. If stupid know-all Don Trump wants it live streaming he can keep that it his own country. AUSTRALIA does NOT need to see this.

John Roy

Absolutely. People seem to conveniently forget that the a-hole killed 13 military personnel in a home base and destroyed the lives of their families along with it. He should not have been fed at the taxpayer expense for this long.

James Rich

Your Democrat party, for the last 12 years, has been calling for and actively defunding the police and not supporting them in any way. Cops have been leaving the force in droves or moving to Red states where they are more valued by their governments. I wouldn’t pay for it but I’d definitely watch the POS be put to death. You don’t have to watch it though, ya little old man Hull.

Nrg James

Who cares! People are so obsessed with sticking their nose into other people bizzo. Watch it if you want or continue your day as you would. Problem solved.

Kerri Bos

No, its disgusting they would advertise this.

Samantha Rich

No, I’m not a barbarian to watch a bloke in a wheelchair get executed by firing squad for vengeful & entertainment purposes by an Epstein terrorist government.
