Night closures on the Kuranda Range Road are scheduled to continue until Thursday, September 24.

The road closes at 9pm and reopens at 4am, each night from Sunday to Thursday.

“Traffic will be let through once in each direction at midnight,” a State Government Transport and Main Roads Department (TMR) spokesperson said.

There are no scheduled night closures on Friday and Saturday nights.

The closures are happening so works can be completed at the downslope slip below Henry Ross Lookout.

The road pavement will also be relaid and a new guardrail installed.

There will also be further delays on Saturday, September 19, for the Cardiac Challenge cycling event.

The uphill lane to Kuranda will be closed from 6.30am and 8.30am for the event, while the downhill lane will remain open to traffic.
