The dedicated faces keeping Douglas families connected

In our tight-knit Shire, it’s the people who step up to care for families who make all the difference - and two local legends leading that charge are Erin Easton and Di Price.

For years, Erin has been an integral part of our community as a support worker at the Port Douglas Community Service Network, helping children, families, and local services in countlessly meaningful ways. 

Now, she is passing the Family Support reins over to the lovely Hollie. While Hollie steps into the front-line role, Erin isn’t going anywhere. 

She will still be working her magic behind the scenes, passing her rich knowledge and experience on to a new generation ready to bring fresh ideas to this vital work.

Through the Network’s Child & Parent Support Program, local families with children can access free counseling sessions. 

Whether you’re a brand-new mum finding your feet, a family needing a hand, or navigating life at the other end of the spectrum, support is always within reach.

Community anchor Di Price 

Another cornerstone of our region is Di Price. If you’ve lived around the Douglas and Daintree community for a while, chances are you already know her warm, familiar face. 

Through Daintree Connections, playgroups, family support, and wider community work, Di has spent years connecting people and ensuring everyone knows where to turn when they need help.

Di’s contribution goes well beyond early childhood, she connects generations. She knows our people, understands our local services, and truly grasps what our community needs.
