HOUSEKEEPING AREA LEAD STAR
(Permanent Senior Leadership Role)

Star Resorts is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Area Lead Star to oversee housekeeping operations across our Port Douglas properties. We use the title Area Lead, reflecting our hands-on leadership style. In many larger hotels this role would be equivalent to a Housekeeping Manager, Head Housekeeper or Executive Housekeeper.

This is a leadership role responsible for ensuring our apartments and resort spaces are presented to the highest standards while supporting and developing our housekeeping team.

The Housekeeping Area Lead will work closely with our Operations Manager and housekeeping stars to ensure the daily housekeeping operation runs smoothly across our properties.

This role combines hands-on operational involvement with team leadership, helping guide housekeeping staff while maintaining high presentation standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating housekeeping teams, supporting daily room readiness, monitoring quality standards, managing inventory and helping create an efficient and positive working environment.

If you are a local resident with parenting, school or other regular commitments, please let us know your availability when applying. Where possible, we are happy to work with team members to create consistent roster arrangements that support both the business and your schedule.

1:00pm 4:00pm Four Mile Beach Monthly Clean-up Come and join in our monthly beach clean-up! Registrations are essential - email Lucy, [email protected].

What shall I bring?
Volunteers need to wear enclosed shoes, bring sun/rain protection, and plenty of drinking water (1 to 2 litres is recommended). We try to ensure that all Tangaroa Blue events are free from single-use plastic, so bring along your reusable water bottle. All equipment and drinking water top-ups will be provided.

Why is it in the afternoon?
Four Mile Beach is shaded in the afternoon making it a cooler time to be out on the beach. Most debris is along the vegetation or tide lines, so the afternoon reduces sun exposure.

We look forward to seeing you out on the beach!
