There have been some extra delays on Captain Cook Highway this morning after a crash near Wangetti.

A Newsport reader sent in footage of the incident, with emergency services in attendance including ambulances and a police car.

It took about 20 minutes for drivers to get through not long after the crash, which appeared to be a truck hitting a rock wall at about 7.10am.

According to the State Government Transport and Main Roads Department, the accident took place north of Rex Lookout at Wangetti.

A traffic lane northbound towards Port Douglas was reduced.

TMR stated all drivers should proceed with caution.

There is no word yet on whether there were any injuries resulting from the crash.
