Port Douglas & Palm Cove

We are looking to fill 2 casual positions within the organisation. The first located in Port Douglas and the second located in Palm Cove. Initially, each role will be 2 - 3 days per week.


In this role, you will be reporting to and working closely with the Front Office Manager. You will be empowered to support the daily, weekly and monthly property management operations, ensuring appropriate reporting to support operational needs.


Administration, Customer & Owner Relations, Property Management and Reservations Support.


Sending statements to owners
Download bank accounts daily
Download trust account cashbook from software
Receipt all monies that have hit the trust account


Owner liaison and relationship
Checking in guests and customer liaison during stay
Answering email queries
Handling guest complaints and feedback
Handling escalated customer complaints


Check Houses/Apartment before guest arrivals
Checking of rooms for Maintenance items
Coordinating third party contractors to carry agreed works
Coordinating with owners to complete works as per agreed conditions
Manage Apartments/Houses to make sure no damage when heavy rain or High Humidity also when vacant for long period
Ordering of Linen for larger houses
Purchasing items for Apartments/Houses on behalf of owners
Maintaining and ensuring regular servicing of contractors are completed eg. pest control, air con
Coordinating and handling housekeeping requirements


Accommodation Reservations and Booking of Other Travel Related Product

Manage customer reservations, modifications and cancellations.
Customer expectation management.
Up sell other travel related product, including;
Travel Insurance,
Flights, and,
Tours & Attractions.


Manage reservations, modifications and cancellations within the PMS and OTA intranet, ensuring synchronisation.
Manage and respond to chat and communications relating to enquiries and reservations.
Review and respond to Customer reviews and feedback.

Anything things else as reasonably requested.


To be considered for this role, you will require:

At least 1-2 years’ experience working within a small to medium sized travel or accommodation organisation.
Good tourism product knowledge within the regions of Cairns through to Port Douglas.
Answer inbound calls promptly, clearly & upbeat.
The ability to build customer rapport.
Be able to communicate with customers & colleagues in a polite, professional & friendly manner.
Use language & tone appropriate to a given situation in both written & spoken communication.
Experience in using Hirum PMS or any other similar Property Management System.
Experience and understanding of OTA (Online Travel Agent) or Wholesaler Intranets, with the following a must;
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Have a general all-round great attitude towards life, the organisation and fellow employees.

Initially, the role will be a casual role of 2-3 days a week, including weekend work.

The Lychee Tree Holiday Apartments in Port Douglas is looking for experienced House Keepers – with an ABN or part-time/casual. While we expect exceptional professional standards to be delivered, the Lychee Tree is a friendly and relaxed complex to work for.

Our housekeepers are required to:
- Be highly motivated, enthusiastic and have great attention to detail
- Clean apartments quickly, neatly, and efficiently
- Have initiative and be pro-active in their communication
- Be reliable and have consistent availability on workdays: weekdays or weekends and public/school holidays
- Have a mature attitude and can work independently without supervision
- Be able to handle physical work (eg. turning mattresses, moving beds, furniture)
- Register and report to management any deficiencies, inventory and appliance problems from the guest’s apartments
- Timely report any supplies which need to re-stocked
- Liaise with reception with regards to specific cleaning issues.
- Option for extra hours carrying out cleaning work around the complex

We are looking for housekeepers for either the midweek and/or weekends incl. public holidays. Occasional flexibility to relieve other cleaners required. Hours are variable per day.

We are looking someone who has:
- Excellent time management skills
- Exceptional eye for detail
- Flexibility to work weekdays and/or weekends and public holidays
- Previous resort housekeeping experience.
This is an offer for ongoing work and would suit a local – not available for short-term visa holders.
