The mighty Matildas giant conquering run at the World Cup shows no signs of slowing down after a heart stopping penalty goal win over France.

The team has captured the nation’s imagination in recent weeks as they look to go all the way in their quest to become World Cup champions.

On Wednesday night they face England in their semi final showdown. If they win that, they’ll play either Spain or Sweden in the holy grail of them all, the World Cup final.

With that said, where exactly can locals and tourists alike watch the final out and about on Wednesday night in Port Douglas?

Local establishments are expected to be run off their feet with big crowds taking in World Cup fever.

Hemingway’s Brewery has confirmed they’ll be showing the match, as is Paddy’s Irish Pub and Grill.

Court House Hotel management told Newsport they’re expecting a big crowd at their venue, so those wanting to watch are encouraged to show up early for a seat.

The Central Hotel in the centre of Macrossan St is also showing the match and again patrons are encouraged to show up early.

The fun folk at N 17 Burger Co are also airing the match. Bookings are essential as they are expecting a solid crowd. The match will air live and loud on all TVs.

*At the time of publishing Douglas Shire Council had also confirmed it was likely going to also air the match on a big screen at two live Douglas Shire sites - Dixie Park, Port Douglas and Mossman Showgrounds in Mossman. Both venues open at 7pm.

The game officially gets underway at 8pm and will be played at Sydney’s Stadium Australia.
