The Flagstaff Hill Walking Trail has re-opened following recent works to repair sections of the track.

The repair works involved installing 14 new concrete steps on the Rex Smeal Park side of the trail.

Council said more than 20 armour rock plates were also installed on parts of the track that had been previously washed away in heavy rain or flooding.

Council said more works will be undertaken after the wet season on the small section of track between the lookout and the main track.
