The Mossman Sharks have put last year’s grand final heartbreak behind them as they look to again be a premiership force in 2023.

The Sharks have been back on the track for two weeks combining training in Mossman with a session on Wednesdays in Cairns.

Just months ago the Sharks pulled off the signing coup of the season having secured the services of former NRL premiership player and Dally M Medallist, Ben Barba.

The Sharks were the dominant team in the CDRL A-grade competition in 2022 winning 15 straight games on their way to the grand final against Brothers.

However, despite leading 16-6 in the decider Brothers recorded a huge boilover to come away with the A-Grade premiership.

This season, experienced campaigner Davin Crampton takes over coaching duties from Joel Marama.

“We have hopefully a few trial games in early March before our season kicks off,” a club representative told Newsport.

“We’re looking forward to getting back into it.

“Last season is behind us – we’re focused now on what we can do in 2023.”
