As the curtain falls on another year in the Douglas Shire, the anticipation of the holiday season is heightened by the arrival of a whimsical character known as Little Ray Elf.

Little Ray Elf's presence at Ray White Port Douglas aims to go beyond spreading cheer, fostering generosity and a strong sense of togetherness within the community.

The whimsical Elf is a new addition to the annual Christmas Appeal, affectionately named the ‘Little Ray of Giving’, now in its third year. You will find the Giving Tree sparkling at 24 Wharf Street Port Douglas, the spot to drop in your donations for a deserving member of the community because everyone deserves to smile this Christmas.

This Elf’s heartfelt mission encourages residents to embrace the ethos of 'Shop Small' and 'Do it in Douglas' this Christmas, transforming the season into an opportunity to rally behind local businesses.

Cassie Flinn of Ray White Port Douglas encourages everyone to believe in the magic that supporting small businesses can create.

“Whenever you Shop Small, you’re investing in the local community,” she said. “Starting the day with a coffee from the local cafe or buying a gift from the markets or a boutique store directly supports our wonderful small businesses.”

Mark Flinn, Principal of Ray White Port Douglas, echoes this sentiment, “It’s a fun way to support small businesses and our proud sense of community,” he added.

“This holiday season, the call is not just to shop but to weave the ribbon of community spirit into every purchase, making it a joyful and meaningful experience.”

But the excitement doesn't end there. Little Ray Elf is set to embark on a daily photo hunt, inviting the community to join in the adventure.

Spotting Little Ray Elf in his photo updates when visiting various local businesses could earn you the chance to win a $50 daily voucher - an exciting scavenger hunt encouraging participants to rediscover beloved community spots.

For those eager to be part of this festive fun, it all begins on December 1st. Follow @raywhiteportdouglas on Facebook and Instagram to welcome the holiday spirit and become part of the ‘Little Ray of Giving’ campaign.
