Cooya Beach based boxer Nate Martinelli has achived a signifigant milestone after being selected to represent Qld at the upcoming Australian amateur boxing league national championships in late November in Hobart.

The young boxer has spent the past four years of training out of Buzzas Boxing gym. He qualified for the Tasmania trip following a strong showing at the recent golden gloves titles.

Experienced local Josh Harris also trains out of Buzzas Boxing Gym and has qualified for his second Nationals, in the seniors' section.

"Nate has learnt so much from the team at Buzzas Gym," a family spokesperson told Newsport.

"Danny Buzza, son Lachy, and Josh are the trio of trainers who have played a valuable role in prepping Nate over the years.

"They've each provided their knowledge, experience, ring smarts, unwavering faith and support in Nate and it's been very much appreciated.

"Thank you Team Buzza."

The Douglas Shire duo will contest the championships in Hobart between November 23-25.
