A man continues to recover after being transported to Cairns hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle motorbike crash at Oak Beach just a short time ago.

Police said initial investigations reveal the 40 year-old Port Douglas man allegedly crashed his 2022 BMW motorbike about 30km south of Port Douglas around 9.45am yesterday morning.

Police said the forensic crash unit continues to investigate the cause of the accident and has urged anyone with relevant dash cam vision to contact them.

Yesterday’s incident marks the fifth time there has been a motorbike related crash on the Captain Cook Highway between Cairns and Port Douglas in the past two months.
