Special evening honours volunteers and sponsors of Junior Sharks

Last Friday, on April 19th, the Mossman Junior Rugby League Sharks committee put together a special Season Launch to kick off the 2024 season and give a big shout-out to all the volunteers and sponsors who support them.

The event took place at Zinc Port Douglas, where volunteers and sponsors gathered to enjoy some tasty snacks and drinks. 

The Season Launch was a reminder of how important volunteers and sponsors are to the team. Their support helps the Sharks thrive both on and off the field.

Tilly Ludon, volunteer and committee member at Mossman Junior Sharks, said “We wanted to personally thank those businesses and volunteers who have committed to support our club”. “Volunteers are a crucial part of any club. Without them, things just don’t run as smoothly.

“We truly appreciate their generosity, efforts, and time. It's a great way to connect with the community and build relationships. Special thanks to Chris Bower and his team from Zinc for serving amazing food. Lucky to have them as a gold sponsor.

“Our club relies heavily on volunteers, from coaches dedicated to training and attending games, to those managing the canteen, cooking, and setting up for events. We cover everything from registration to marketing, all to ensure the best for our kids.

“In 2024, our main goals include restocking training and first aid equipment, acquiring seating and shade for the field, and installing lighting for night events. We're also focused on bridging the gap between junior and senior rugby league by recruiting competitive age groups and encouraging youth participation."
