A range of Douglas Shire faces and places will air tomorrow night during the latest episode of Taste of the Tropics on SBS TV.

Samantha Martin hosts the episode which will air at 8pm tomorrow, Wednesday, March 27 and delve into the vibrant food scene of Port Douglas and its surrounds showcasing local foodies and their tantalising recipes.

The series is a collaborative effort by local filmmakers Maura Mancini, Kim Knox, and Alison George, made possible through Screen Queensland’s talent development initiative.

Supported by Screen Queensland, Screenworks, SBS and Cutting Edge, with additional support from Tourism Port Douglas Daintree, the episode celebrates the culinary heritage of our region.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for our community to support local talent and experience the diverse flavours of the Port Douglas region from the comfort of their homes,” producer Maura Mancini told Newsport on the eve of the program’s latest installment.
