Mossman Skate Park is set for a vibrant new look, with Douglas Shire Council inviting the community to help bring colour and creativity back to George Davis Park.

More than a decade after the park became a local landmark thanks to some bold street art on the ramps and rails, recent resurfacing and safety upgrades have left a clean slate, with the artwork removed during essential maintenance works.

The council is now exploring ways to involve local artists, youth groups and community organisations in a collaborative art project to reimagine the space.

Douglas Shire Mayor Lisa Scomazzon said this presented an exciting new opportunity for local artists.

“What we now have is a blank canvas and we’d love to see the community help us turn it into something vibrant and uniquely Mossman once again,” Mayor Scomazzon said.

Anyone interested in contributing to the revitalisation project is encouraged to contact DSC’s sport and recreation officer on 4099 9444.
