You take from one place it goes to another and vica versa.

Great idea. Can they do Cow Bay beach as well? We lose she oaks, callaphylum trees and palms every high tide! Not only does it make it look like a disaster zone, the eroded banks are very unstable and dangerous for all beach users.
Julie Robertson
Wow, hope it lasts longer than a few days like the last time they did this. A few high tides and it forms another sand island off Cooya.
Jill Gronow
This is a short term fix, a waste of ratepayers money. Was done last year and lasted only days. Sandbags that were placed there a number of years ago worked for a while. Now we have a big sandbar at the mouth of the Mossman river it is affecting the shape of the bay. More research needs to go into this problem.
Daryl Cheer
The sand normally comes from the dredging at the ferry and is a requirement of the EPA that it is placed at Rocky Point or Newell Beach. It can’t not be used for any other purposes.

It’s a complete disgrace... the whole jewish parliament and all there allies need to hold these starving to death children in their arms... so the smell of death never leaves their disgrace ...I had to remove a dead rat the other day... could not help but think about the leaders and their excuses ..the Gestapo.
Leeanne Perez
Lance Moore you don't think Hamas should be made to "hold" them also????

Luckly chubby Hamas fighters haven't release videos of themselves feasting, right? That would be super embarrassing.

Regarding your article relating to Gaza... if you want to get into international politics would be good to have opinions from both sides that would let readers judge for themselves and not be left with in my opinion a bias article.
Ed note: The piece is an editorial opinion piece by Crispin Hull, not an “article”.

Yep me to - in fact I believe the Council has got it absolutely correct. Probably one of the best investments they could have made. I would be happy for more of my rates to go into the program.
Jay See
Such a fantastic move by the Council! Swimming is a vital life skill for kids in this region, and this will ease the financial burden on families and schools. So good to see local decisions supporting child safety, education, and community wellbeing.
Emma Egel
What a great initiative! Happy for my rates to go towards this.
Lauren Smith
Great initiative! Money well spent. Keeping kids safe in and around water.
Janice Ruffles
This is amazing for the school swimming programs in our shire that cost schools thousands of dollars each year to implement.
