Cooktown woman arrested after service station ramraid

A 35-year-old Cooktown woman has been arrested after a truck ramraided a Yorkeys Knob service station.

Police raided a Clifton Beach home yesterday (Wednesday, June 4) and charged the woman with two counts of entering a premises and committing an indictable offence by breaking in.

The woman was allegedly involved in a ramraid at a Yorkeys Knob service station in the early hours of Tuesday, June 3, where a truck smashed through the front of the shop and an attempt was made to drag out an ATM from inside.

The woman was also charged with being involved in a similar incident at a Rossville hotel on Sunday, May 25.

She is due to appear before the Cairns Magistrates Court on Monday, June 23.

Investigations into others who may be involved in both crimes are ongoing.
