Club Mossman staff have been left shocked after a man was caught on CCTV stealing a full donation jar late last Monday night, June 9.

The jar, shaped like a blue dog and used for collecting community donations (estimated to contain about $170) was taken when the staff member briefly stepped away.

“It was blatant,” a spokesperson at Club Mossman said. “He looked straight at it, reached over, and took it without hesitation.”

The man reportedly returned the following day and attempted to steal another donation jar, this time one meant for guide dogs. 

Fortunately, a staff member noticed and intervened before the theft could take place.

Footage of both incidents has been provided to the police, and a formal report has been filed. 

Staff have confirmed the man has not returned since the second incident.
