Raine & Horne Port Douglas | Mossman has recently welcomed a new face to the team: Mitch Worth, a natural people person who brings empathy, energy, and a real passion for connection.

Before stepping into real estate, Mitch built a varied career across Queensland and New South Wales. The common thread? He thrives in roles that revolve around people - and he’s good at it.

To get a feel for what Mitch brings to real estate, it makes sense to look at the road that got him here, one built on people skills, adaptability, and a genuine drive to help.

Originally from Noosa, he first visited Port Douglas in 2017 for a mate’s wedding, and just a month later, he’d quit his job, sold everything, and made the move north.

He quickly settled into the local scene, managing the Court House Hotel and later running Avis & Budget Car Hire.

When COVID hit, Mitch relocated to Port Macquarie, taking on a frontline role with Service NSW, helping residents navigate emergency support after severe flooding.

“We set up hubs to help people get back on their feet, it was intense but incredibly meaningful,” he said.

That experience only deepened his commitment to people-first work.

He soon returned to Noosa to join Sunshine Butterflies, a not-for-profit farm-based organisation supporting people with disabilities.

“It was one of the most rewarding places I’ve worked - a real community where you could see the impact every day,” Mitch said.

He later stepped into NDIS support coordination, helping participants navigate services and manage their funding.

But Port Douglas wasn’t done with him yet. The place that first captured his heart called him back.

He worked at the Tin Shed, held an admin role with Pharaoh Care in Mossman, and took on a short stint in support work in Cairns before deciding it was time to try something new.

In early 2025, Mitch joined Raine & Horne Port Douglas | Mossman, bringing with him years of hands-on experience and a genuine passion for people.

Though still learning the ropes, Mitch brings something different: authenticity.

Since joining, he’s built one of the office’s most detailed prospecting databases; linking past and present owners, canvassing street by street, and reaching out with friendly, helpful conversations.

“I know I might be interrupting someone’s day, so I keep it light. Even if they’re not selling, I just want them to know what their property’s worth.”

What he loves most, though, is the sense of community.

“I’ve lived in Noosa, Cairns, and Port Macquarie, but nowhere beats the feeling you get in Port,” he said.

When he’s not meeting clients or making calls, you’ll find Mitch creek-hopping, walking Four Mile Beach, or catching a footy game.

Still learning the ropes, Mitch knows he has a way to go, but he’s all in.

“I might not know all the jargon yet, but I’ve got a great team, I ask questions, and I show up. That counts for a lot.”
