The Crocs are on top of the AFL Cairns table after winning six games in a row.

On paper, Saturday’s match loomed as a danger game for Port Douglas, playing one of the top teams Trinity Bulldogs away, but the Crocs absolutely blitzed it to come away 119-point winners and send a strong message to the entire competition.

A big seven-goal first quarter set the tone, but the Crocs did not take their feet off the pedal the whole day, with Centrals never in the hunt.

Spearhead Kye Chapple kicked 11 goals on the same weekend he also won three trophies at the Port Douglas Tennis Club championships, while midfielder Sam Fairclough got four majors in the 25-12 (162) to 5.13 (43) win.

Best players were Thomas Cantwell, Murphy Short, Chapple, Ben Mcphee, Joseph Sellwood and Fairclough.

In the women’s competition, the Crocs went down to the Bulldogs 0.1 (1) to 3.13 (31).

The Port Douglas teams are away to Cairns Saints this Saturday.

Earlier in the game, both teams traded blows, with Innisfail scoring first in the 20th minute, followed by Dragon Cathal O’shea, then Innisfail scored again, then Jamie Quinn of Port Douglas, to make the score 2-2 at the break.
