Many Port Douglas residents across Four Mile Beach and Port Gardens lost power this afternoon at about 3pm.

A powerline broke along Triton Crescent next to the Beach Shack restaurant.

The line was then left draped along the footpath, road and multiple driveways.

Many residents in the surrounding area lost power as Ergon Energy promptly began work and Queensland Police officers closed off the road.

Power has been returned to most of the region as the damage has been isolated.

Triton Crescent remains closed as Ergon works to repair the lines.
