Port Douglas businesses are being encouraged to promote their business live on national television tomorrow morning, Thursday, May 8, when Channel 9’s TODAY morning show rolls into town.

Tourism Port Douglas Daintree has alerted through social media that TODAY will be doing live crosses from 7am where the region can show Australia the vibrant, tropical spirit of the town!

“Bring a sign to promote your business and wave to friends and family live on national TV,’’ TPDD executive officer Emma Tunnock said.

Businesses and members of the public wanting a taste of TV fame are encouraged to meet in the Sheraton Grand Mirage lobby and TPDD reps will direct you to the lagoon lawn.

"We’re keen to see community be part of the weather crosses at the Sheraton from 7am tomorrow,'' Ms Tunnock said.

"We’re then in the Daintree on Friday with TODAY, live from the Daintree Ecolodge to celebrate the Daintree and the wonderful ways it can be explored and experienced.''

“There’s awesome prizes for the best dressed and best sign,’’ they said.

“Let’s pack the lawn, bring the energy, and put Port Douglas in the spotlight!’’

Participants are encouraged to dress in tropical theme and even wear float costumes with Port Douglas Carnivale being celebrated as part of the live crosses.
