Parts of Wharf and Macrossan Streets have been closed off for tonight's parade.

Carnival 2025 has arrived in Douglas Shire.

Driving into Port Douglas along the main road into town early this afternoon, you were greeted with a sea of white tables and colourful diners as the Longest Lunch was underway at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort.

And the Surfy was yesterday evening packed with families, acrobats and pirates for the debut of the new Sea Circus show Treasured Tales.

Tourism Port Douglas Daintree reports accommodation bookings are high and the pubs and restaurants along Macrossan and Wharf Streets have been filling up with revellers this afternoon.

Roads in the centre of town are now closed off for the street parade tonight, which takes place at 6.30pm along Macrossan Street.

For all the events on the weekend, go to carnival.com.au.

For the full Savannah Sounds music festival program, go to savannahsounds.com.au.
