Port Douglas to welcome The World
Cruise Ships
The World is coming to Port Douglas in December…. The luxury residence cruise ship, that is.
The largest private residential yacht on Earth will be in Port Douglas waters on Saturday, December 6, fresh from a $30 million revamp and with around 200 passengers who own the 165 residences valued between $1.5m and $10.5 million each as part of a unique international community.
Residents of The World experience a Journey of their own choosing across every ocean and every continent on Earth, with extensive time and an unmatched depth of exploration in more than 100 ports each year.
Itineraries are crafted to maximise resident experiences at every landing, often spending three days at a single destination. Polar and tropical expeditions are planned each year to provide exploration and access along the planet’s most untamed shores.
On colossal glaciers, in ancient castles, at desert oases, and behind closed doors in landmark museums, wineries, and art galleries – the experiences are led by knowledgeable insiders and outstanding experts in their fields while the ship is served by a crew of around 250 people.
The Port Douglas visit comes as part of The World’s final expedition of 2025 to West Papua at the eastern extreme of Indonesia.
As the year draws to a close, The World will spend the holidays in Brisbane and Sydney. Residents and guests will toast to the New Year in Hobart, Tasmania, to celebrate another incredible global journey and to all the special experiences to come in 2026.
