A trio of Great Barrier Reef and charity-campaign experts will be in Port Douglas tonight for a public question and answer session at Clink Theatre.

Following a screening of the David Attenborough documentary Ocean, reef campaigners Dr Dean Miller, Suzy Stanford and Tanya Murphy will take part in a group discussion about what can be done to further protect the reef.

Dr Miller is a scientist and conservationist with a PhD in coral-reef management who has been involved in more than 300 ocean expeditions on ships across the world.

Suzy Stanford is a community campaigner who raises money for reef causes, while Tanya Murphy is a dive guide who also works in the marine-conservation field.

The film content is described as taking viewers on a breathtaking journey through coral reefs, kelp forests, and the open ocean, highlighting why healthy seas are vital for our planet.

The event starts at 7pm at Clink Theatre, 18 Mowbray Street, Port Douglas.
