Music lovers set for an unforgettable Carnivale weekend
SAVANNAH SOUNDS
BUSINESS FEATURE
The tropical waterfront is set to come alive this May as Savannah Sounds returns to Rex Smeal Park for Port Douglas Carnivale.
Following the massive success of last year’s event, the three-day festival is back from Friday, May 22, to Sunday, May 24, with another stellar lineup of Australian music icons.
Set against the stunning backdrop of palm trees and the Coral Sea, the festival, presented by Douglas Shire Council, with Newsport as major sponsor and a range of local businesses getting behind the event, brings together some of the country’s most celebrated acts for an unforgettable weekend in the tropics.
This year’s headliners, including Vanessa Amorosi, Jon Stevens, Sneaky Sound System, Dragon, and Kingswood, will bring a stellar mix of iconic anthems and high-energy performances to the tropical waterfront for an unforgettable weekend.
The musical festival is designed for you to enjoy the best of Port Douglas Carnivale during the day before heading to the park for world-class live music each afternoon and evening.
With local food trucks, bars and relaxed seating areas and a VIP zone overlooking the water it is the ultimate way to soak up the tropical atmosphere.
Line-up schedule
The festival kicks off on Friday, May 22, with presenting partner Reef Unlimited bringing the vibes as local DJs play during the Macrossan Street parade.
Once the music shifts to the park, the stage will feature performances from artists including the Raconteurs and Kairos Kin, leading up to the 8.00pm fireworks and a high-energy set from Sneaky Sound System to close out the night.
Saturday’s main stage concert on May 23 brings the biggest energy of the weekend, showcasing sets from festival headliners such as Kingswood, Vanessa Amorosi, and Jon Stevens.
The festival then wraps up on Sunday, May 24, with a full day of music. You can look forward to a relaxed but powerful finish to the weekend featuring performances from artists including the Hillbilly Goats, Whiskey, and classic rock legends Dragon.
