Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina set for a sediment cleanout
Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina
Dredging at Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina is set to soon take place with work by the Queensland Government’s Department of Transport and Main Roads setting off in the channel entrance this week.
Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina Operations Manager Wayne Hartley says the marina again has taken advantage of the dredging contractor doing channel entrance maintenance to remove sediment build up in the facility where required.
“This allows us to continue to attract visiting vessels to the area,’’ Mr Hartley said.
“The spoil - sediment, not sand - is pumped via a pipeline to existing settling ponds adjacent to the Port Douglas Mossman Road.”
The last dredging program in Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina was undertaken in 2018.
“I’m not aware of how long the entire program will take, however, our portion will take around three to four weeks and is likely to commence late July/August at this stage.
