New ambo station set to give boost for Shire health
Emergency services
Mossman is set to receive a replacement ambulance station on the main street where the current one now sits.
The new station and relief quarters on Front Street across the road from the high school will be built in stages so that ambulance services are not interrupted during the construction phase.
The existing ambulance station has reached the end of its life and is no longer fit for purpose, according to plans submitted to the council.
The new relief quarters will include two bedrooms, two ensuites, a combined living, dining and kitchen area, and a carport.
The existing station building at the front of the site will be demolished, with the new building to be located in the centre of the site with a combined living, dining and kitchen area, training room, office, study, storeroom and deck area.
A new five-car carpark and more landscaping are also included in the plans.
