A spectacular week of sailing wraps up on the Coral Sea

If you’ve noticed the horizon packed with colourful sails over the last few days, you've been watching the Port Douglas Race Week in action.
Today, Friday, May 22, marks the final day of the multi-day regatta, wrapping up a fantastic week of competition and community vibe down at the Port Douglas Yacht Club.
A fleet of 14 boats has been out on the Coral Sea every day, tackling different courses and earning points based on where they finish.
The crew with the lowest total score by this evening gets their name on the historic Clipper Cup.
Of course, half the magic of Race Week always happens off the water. Every afternoon, the Port Douglas Yacht Club has been buzzing as crews head back to swap stories from the day, grab a cold drink, and enjoy the live music.
As everything wraps up today, it’s just a great reminder of how lucky we are to have this place in our backyard.
Newsport tagged along out on the water on Tuesday, May 19, check out some of the action shots below.
