Man injured falling from boat near Rex Smeal Park

A man in his 20s was taken to Mossman hospital by ambulance in a stable condition on Sunday evening after falling from a boat off the coast of Port Douglas.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed paramedics attended the scene at about 7pm on Sunday, October 26.

The man was treated for a foot injury.

Witnesses who were at Rex Smeal Park reported to Newsport that police and the QAS were on the scene while the man lay on the ground surrounded by officers and paramedics.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said it was investigating the marine incident.

"Around 7pm, police were called to Rex Smeal Park following reports a man fell out of his boat injuring his leg," she said.

"He was brought to shore by onlookers who provided medical assistance.

"The vessel was secured by police and investigations remain ongoing."
