CASUAL ON-CALL TRANSFER STAFF

Community Funerals is seeking compassionate and reliable individuals to join our team as Casual On-Call Transfer Staff.

This role involves assisting with the respectful transfer of deceased persons into our care during after-hours periods.

Availability is required:
Weeknights: 4.00pm – 8.00am
Weekends: 24-hour on-call availability

Staff are generally rostered one week in every three, making this role suitable for someone who may already have regular weekday employment.

Full training will be provided.

The position includes a daily on-call allowance, as well as a minimum $300 call-out payment when required to attend a transfer.

We are looking for applicants who:
- Hold a current full driver’s licence
- Are well presented and professional
- Are physically capable of undertaking transfer duties
- Can work effectively as part of a team
- Understand the importance of confidentiality, dignity, and discretion
- Are willing to work outside normal business hours
- Have a calm, compassionate, and caring manner when supporting families and working in sensitive circumstances

Previous experience in funeral care, health care, emergency services, or a similar field may be advantageous; however, it is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.

The role
Skipper river cruises safely and professionally across both upper and lower Daintree River environments.
Deliver engaging commentary on crocodiles, birdlife and the Daintree’s diverse river habitats.
Welcome guests and help provide a memorable experience.
Carry out vessel checks and assist with day-to-day boat care.

We’re looking for
A current Coxswain qualification appropriate to our vessels and operations.
A strong commitment to passenger safety.
Confident communication and friendly customer service.
A keen interest in wildlife and the natural environment.
Reliability, teamwork and availability to work weekends.
Previous boat-handling and tour-guiding experience would be valued.
