Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas empathises with the challenges encountered by the local tourism, hospitality, and retail industry over the past few years.

In appreciation of the industry's hardworking professionals, we are excited to offer complimentary admission for local workers to unwind and rejuvenate before the upcoming busy season.

From this Thursday until June 21 employees in the tourism, hospitality, and retail sectors within Douglas Shire are welcomed to enjoy free admission to Wildlife Habitat.

Sales and marketing director Ben Woodward acknowledged the challenges that the tourism industry was still facing in its recovery.

"Our gesture of offering free admission is a token of appreciation for the tireless efforts of local, customer-facing staff. We want to provide them with an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing day amidst nature's wonders," he said.

Enhancing the experience further, Wildlife Habitat is delighted to offer exclusive discounts for local workers, including a remarkable 30% off the renowned 'Breakfast with the Birds' and 40% off the thrilling 'Swim with the Salties' adventure for up to four participants.

Wildlife Habitat is not only dedicated to providing a memorable experience for visitors but is also committed to the welfare and conservation of wildlife.

General Manager of Wildlife Habitat Clare Anderson expressed immense pride in the ongoing successes of Wildlife Habitat’s Tropical Animal Rehabilitation Centre (TARC).

"TARC provides free care to hundreds of native animals each year, and we remain committed to outreach and community education initiatives. We deeply appreciate any contributions, as the facility relies solely on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and foundations,” she said.

Wildlife Habitat encourages visitors to consider making a donation to support their crucial work. By contributing a modest amount of just $5, individuals can make a significant difference in the lives of the animals under their care.

For entry, visit Wildlife Habitat and provide proof of local employment in tourism, hospitality, or retail to our friendly reception staff.
