In a remarkable feat of golfing mastery, Mossman's Sy Dolphin has once again placed his name into the prestigious 'hole-in-one' hall of fame.

Nearly seven years after his initial triumph in 2016, Mr Dolphin left spectators awestruck with his latest achievement at the Sheraton Mirage Country Club.

Back on that fateful day in August 2016, Mr Dolphin hit a hole-in-one at the Mossman Golf Club and now he has added another chapter to his glorious golfing saga.

“I couldn't believe the ball actually went into the hole,” Mr Dolphin said in disbelief. “To make matters even more absurd, it was a blind hole, so we didn't actually witness the miracle unfold.”

Together with his playing partners, Travis Schumacher and Mark Spry, they approached the green in their trusty buggy but they couldn’t spot the ball anywhere.

“Travis and Mark ran to the hole to check it out and found the ball in it. They screamed out “It’s in the hole!”.”

“I told them not to joke but then they pulled it out to prove it was there. We held hands and danced around the hole like we were playing 'ring-a-ring-a-rosie'. Shouting and laughing until we were puffed.”

Celebrations all over

Mr Dolphin's incredible shot took place on the 11th Hole, a formidable Par 3 at Sheraton Mirage Country Club, during the club's weekly Thursday competition.

Not one to let such a momentous occasion go unnoticed, he generously treated his playing partners, as well as the lucky witnesses, to a round of celebratory drinks at the bar.

When asked about the significance of golf in his life, Mr Dolphin spoke passionately about the role it plays in his weekly routine.

"Playing golf is my ultimate stress reliever," he said. "After dealing with the challenges of running my own business, Dolphin Electrical, it's crucial for me to unwind and enjoy some friendly banter with my mates. It's the perfect social event."
