This month’s local Government elections is the topic currently on the lips of a lot of Douglas Shire residents who are keen to know about the future priorities and policies of our confirmed Mayoral and Councillor candidates.

A reminder – In the coming days Newsport will publish a series of video interviews with both the Douglas Shire Mayoral and Councillor candidates. These stories will go into further depth about their specific policies, priorities and suitability for their respective roles.

A reminder an open election forum will be held this Sunday from 1-3pm at Mossman Sports Hall (46- 62 Front St) next to Douglas Shire Chambers. All candidates will be in attendence to discuss their priorities and to take questions from the floor.

The forum will be a fully inclusive, respectful event.
