The countdown is on for one of North Queensland’s most popular events, with the Cairns Super Carnival set to return in 2025, with more racing, fashion, and entertainment than ever before.
Running from August 15 to 23, this year’s expanded Carnival will combine the region’s two premier race meets - the Red Beret Hotel Cairns Cup and the Cairns Amateur Cup - into a single nine-day celebration of sport, style and social energy.
With three official race days and a full calendar of supporting events, the Carnival offers locals and visitors more opportunities to experience top-quality racing, standout fashion, premium hospitality and live entertainment.
Friday 15 August marks the official start of festivities with the Carnival Launch Party at the Reef Hotel Casino, a glamorous evening event that sets the tone for the week ahead.
Saturday 16 August sees the first race day hit the track with the Cairns Amateurs Cup Day.
Expect thrilling racing, vibrant hospitality, and the always-popular Cairns Central Fashions on the Field, with this year’s theme set as Tropical Elegance.
The energy continues into the night with the Mounting Yard Afterparty, headlined by Australia’s #1 Country DJ, Dee Jaye Bux.
Midweek, the community is invited to a free family-friendly event on Wednesday 20 August, the Red Beret Hotel Cairns Cup Barrier Draw, offering a rare behind-the-scenes insight into the lead-up to the region’s biggest race.
Thursday 21 August features the ever-popular Ladbrokes Sportsman’s Luncheon and Calcutta, hosted by Nick Quinn, with appearances from three-time Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Glenn Boss and 2024 winner Robbie Dolan, who will also perform live on stage.
The glamour continues on Friday 22 August with Ladies Day, headlined by the $100,000 Ladbrokes Cairns Newmarket.
The Gordon’s Pink Gin High Tea Party returns in a new trackside location, complemented by a fashion runway show curated by Bella Nucifora and City Life Magazine’s Fashions on the Field competition.
The Carnival concludes on a high on Saturday 23 August with the $150,000 Red Beret Hotel Cairns Cup.
The final day also features the Bold & Beautiful-themed Fashions on the Field, judged by celebrity guests Elliot Garnaut, Kathy Garnaut, and Rebecca Harding.
In response to feedback, 2025 will include major upgrades to General Admission areas, such as a shaded marquee along the home straight and the addition of the Ladbrokes Public Pavilion.
All GA tickets include access to bars, food trucks, live music and more. Free return buses from the Reef Hotel Casino to Cannon Park will run on all race days.
Tickets go on sale this weekend at www.cairnsjockeyclub.com.au.
