Kennards Port Douglas takes state award
Kennards Awards

The Port Douglas Branch of Kennards Hire has been crowned Queensland’s Branch of the Year at the company’s esteemed Quality of Management (QOM) Awards this month.
Leading this dedicated team are Branch Manager Aiden Frankcombe and Area Manager Russell Williamson, whose leadership has helped drive community engagement, customer service excellence and operational mastery.
With long-serving team member Dale Rossetto, Assistant Branch Manager, who has been with the branch for nearly 16 years, Port Douglas has built a strong community presence, recently sponsoring three junior AFL teams at Port Douglas Croc Juniors. Support from the Cairns and Townsville branches played a key role in their success, contributing everything from shared equipment to administrative assistance.
These highly contested annual awards celebrate the family-owned company’s branches’ exceptional commitment to delivering every customer the best service, equipment, and hire centre experience.
The QOM Awards, this year serving a rock theme, are a cornerstone of Kennards Hire's unwavering commitment to excellence, originally initiated in 1967 when the company only had two branches - Artarmon and Rydalmere in NSW. The branch has come a long way since then, but what remains the same is its commitment to quality - quality product, quality service and quality people.
The Port Douglas Branch has been recognised for its unwavering dedication to excellence, securing the prestigious Queensland Branch of the Year accolade.
Commenting on their award, Aiden Frankcombe, Port Douglas Branch Manager, said: “Our team wasn't expecting to do this well with the awards as we are a small branch and every branch in Queensland crushed it this year.
“But we will take it nonetheless and we are proud to be acknowledged with these achievements for doing our job the best we can and serving the local Port Douglas community.”
Russell Williamson, Area Manager, added: “This is a truly remarkable story for a branch in the Far North. To win this award is not only a win for the branch but it is a win for the close knit community of Port Douglas.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a Ticker Tape parade held down the main street. There will definitely be a few celebration drinks at the Courty. Congratulations to Aiden, Dale and Kaden on this monumental achievement.”
