Local children whose families may find Christmas a little tougher this year are set to enjoy a brighter festive season, but more gifts are still needed for the local Toy Shop, with donations welcome until December 6.

As part of the fifth annual Little Ray of Giving, locals are invited to drop off gifts at the Ray White office to help stock the Mossman Support Services Toy Shop.

The shop allows parents and caregivers to choose special gifts for their children at affordable prices, helping make the magic of Christmas accessible to more families.

Community members are invited to place a donation under the Ray White tree by this Saturday, December 6, Santa’s wishlist includes toys, games, gift cards, sports gear, and experiences, all sure to bring a smile this Christmas.

Erica Mast from Mossman Support Services explained that the toy shop is about more than just giving gifts to children, it’s about giving parents the gift of giving.

“Many families face tough choices between groceries, bills, or Christmas presents. All toys are donated, and most items in the shop are priced between $2 and $5.

“This allows parents to have choice and control, and the dignity of knowing they purchased the gifts themselves,” she said.

Ray White Port Douglas Principal Mark Flinn said the team is proud to support the community each Christmas.

“Little Ray of Giving is all about helping local families when they need it most,” Mr Flinn said.

“By partnering with Mossman Support Services and the Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre, we are able to directly support the people and families within our community which is a core value of our business.

“The Toy Shop is a shining light for our Shire, and we encourage all local businesses and families who can support it to get involved as we count down to Christmas.”
