Multiple drug-related arrests after Douglas home raids

Police have conducted a series of raids across the district.

Four men have been arrested on drug-related charges following separate police raids across the Douglas Shire region on the weekend.

Mossman Criminal Investigation Branch detectives found cannabis, mushrooms, MDMA and drug utensils during a series of raids at Port Douglas, Cooya Beach and Whyanbeel.

A 24-year-old Port Douglas man was charged with two counts of possessing cannabis and MDMA, and one count each of possessing drug utensils and failing to follow a police directive.

A 20-year-old Craiglie man was charged with two counts of possessing drugs.

A 21-year-old Cooyah Beach man was charged with two counts of possessing drugs and drug utensils.

A 22-year-old Whyanbeel man was charged with seven counts of supplying and possessing drugs.

All four men are scheduled to appear in the Mossman Magistrates Court on Wednesday, April 2.
