An about 3m croc has been filmed walking across the Palmer Sea Reef Golf Course. Video: Aviv Jones, Trike Tours

A video of a large saltwater crocodile slowly making its way across the 10th hole fairway of Palmer Sea Reef Golf Course has been captured by a Douglas Shire local.

The footage, taken by Aviv Jones from Trike Tours this month, shows the about 3m croc heading towards a nearby body of water, with its huge and powerful tail lumbering along behind.

The waterways that sit alongside the Port Douglas golf courses are known homes of crocodiles, with a number of warning signs on the courses reminding golfers to keep their distance from the unsafe waters.

Onlookers can be heard in the background discussing the situation, one individual mentioning a drone overhead that can be seen in the background capturing the fascinating scene.

This sighting displays our closeness to nature in Far North Queensland and is an example of why it's always best to remain aware when living in croc country and stay CrocWise.
