Queensland Police have released vision of the SES responding to a task during the North Queensland floods earlier this year, where they assisted with tarping the roof of a home.

The team’s assistance meant the occupant didn’t have to leave their home and be displaced during the floods.

It’s just one of the many taskings our SES volunteers get called to daily and is being used to promote Wear Orange Wednesday this week on May 21.

The SES is encouraging people to participate in Wear Orange Wednesday on May 21, as a way of acknowledging the SES volunteers who go above and beyond to help their community.

For assistance with non-life-threatening situations — such as help with a damaged roof or storm damage — phone SES on 132 500.
