"Markets are great up to a point. But without government organisation and capital, new wealth-generating products and industries rearely flourish" In an optimally organised society there is no capacity recognised by the Optimalists for new wealth generation. So nobody can be made better off without first making others worse off.

I think people were warned in the flooding in Brisbane not long ago people who do understand the risks taken only killing themselves.

Andrea Collisson

What about telling people to look after their cuts and sores with regular doses of antiseptic? And warning the public widely especially when there's a flood or through wet season. Cuts and sores should always be treated with antiseptic even when very minor. Even when it's not a flood. Maybe that would be all that's necessary.

Rosie Miller

One would think that a person with cuts etc did look after them. It's not rocket science.

Yvette Daley

Wear Shoes / boots and gloves along with keeping cuts clean and dry might help.

Tonia Rose

Mate I live in a place that's full of mud. My point was it's not just cuts like they are commenting it's also water and can be inhaled.

17 months after cyclone Jasper and the road from Port Douglas to Cairns is still NOT repaired. $27,000 per day for traffic controllers equates to $13,770,000 spent so far and still NOT completed. A disgrace.

I don’t think he seems interested in anything North of Cairns. Labor’s promise to build a new Urgent Care Clinic in the Cairns Northern Beaches area, we need one up here, trying to get into a Dr in Port shouldn’t take 3-4 weeks, going to Mossman hospital unless urgent, is not the answer either.
