Peter Santarossa is the toast of Mossman Golf Club, and the envy of golfers across the country as the first to claim an Ace Society Hole-in-One jackpot.

Peter - a self-described “good average golfer” - not only scored his first ever hole-in-one, but  it was captured on film and earned him a cool cash prize of $6670.

The score was celebrated at the club with competitors, with Peter paying tribute to the hard work of greenkeepers Matthew and Daniel Coulthard, along with the committee and members.

“Getting a hole-in-one is definitely a highlight,’’ Peter said.

“But it is quite simple, without all the hard work of these guys who make the Mossman Golf Club what it is, there wouldn’t be a chance of doing it.''

Ace Society’s Russell Proud said the global leader in on course gamification was absolutely thrilled that the hole-in-one jackpot had gone off at Mossman.

“Capturing that moment, seeing Peter's shot and the ball roll into the cup, is why we started Ace Society. Congratulations to Peter and the Mossman team! We can't wait for the next one.’’

“I have a limited golfing career, but have enjoyed the game for 20 years. I’ve now had a bit of luck to score a hole in one.’’

Peter has hit a bit of a purple patch, it seems. The golfer, with a handicap of 20, won the monthly medal at Mossman at the weekend.

Ace Society is the global leader in on course gamification, rewarding players for their skill and driving revenue and profit for golf courses. Ace Society is Australian born and bred, operating at 22+ courses across NSW, VIC and QLD. We continue to expand domestically and will soon expand internationally.

Ace Society's proprietary camera and AI technology powers all aspects of the platform. Players are rewarded in 3 ways:

  • The National Jackpot - A minimum prize of $5,000 for hitting a hole-in-one, which grows daily
  • The Inner Circles - Hit it close and be rewarded for your skill. Instant $50 or $20 delivered to a player's phone for use at the course after their round.
  • The Ace Society Championship - A seasonal 3 month tournament where players across the country compete for thousands of dollars of cash, prizes and rewards.

And even if your shot doesn't hit the mark, you have a high definition recording of it and any other entries you've done with Ace Society to watch and share.

Off the course, Ace Society TV is installed across club houses around the country. Showing shots, highlights and other exciting content for players to watch and engage with after their round.

Crocs cruise in men's games

A 20-goal thumping of the Cairns City Lions on their home deck displayed the Port Douglas Crocs’ dominance at the weekend.

Max Hemphill and Kye Chapple each chipped in with 6 goals, Liam Bartells getting a fist full also as the Crocs dominated from the opening bounce - 8 goals in the first term and 12 goals up by half time.

They ran out winners 28.14 (182) to 7.7 (49).

Best players for the Crocs were: Thomas Cantwell, Sam Fairclough, Max Hemphill, Shay Linke, Wally Thomson and Murphy Short.

In the Development League, the Crocs also easily took care of the winless Lions, 18.14 (122) to 1.1 (7)

But the Lions turned the tables on the Crocs in the women’s game, a low scoring affair but with the Lions have all the forward line action to win 1.8 (14) to 0.1.

Best players for the Crocs were: Caity Walsh, Kirra Revell, Ella Jones, Shelby Grinter, Georgia Walker and Hayley Nash.

The Crocs sit fourth on the premiership ladder in the women’s comp and clash with third place Central TB Bulldogs, who proved far too strong for them in Round 3.

Mossman Squash and Tennis Club
