Police have released dramatic video of a special-operations-unit raid on a Port Douglas home.

The video, labelled “State Flying Squad supporting local police in the Far Northern region”, shows at least three officers ramming open a door and rushing into the dining room area of an upstairs property.

The Queensland Police SFS was formed last year as a special crack team with close to 60 officers which conducts operations across the state.

“The State Flying Squad is helping make Queensland safer, charging 1998 offenders with 5957 offences in its first year of operation since it was significantly expanded,” according to a State Government release last month.

“Built to move fast, target and remove serious repeat offenders from the streets, the State Flying Squad is the largest police rapid response unit in Queensland’s history and provides surge capacity into crime hotspots to help restore community safety.”

In the undated Port Douglas video, SFS officers are reportedly executing a search warrant on a Port Douglas property with the help of Public Safety Response Team officers.
